Description
The amazing matrix of water and flooded grasses, sedges and cattails make this a mecca for both resident and migrating birds. This is one of the largest known arrowhead beds in the region producing plenty of seed as feed for the waterfowl. The owner has spent considerable effort to create elevated walkways into selected areas within the wetland where some of the best waterfowl hunting can be found. In those areas he has also constructed duck blinds for just an amazing hunting or wildlife viewing experience. The non-wetland area is a good, high and dry site with a small camp on skids that has electric. The camp is situated on the Van Der Linden pond which is about 11 acres in size, making for a beautiful setting. Watch the ducks and geese or fish and kayak on the pond! The Genesee Greenway Trail follows the eastern boundary of the property providing the public the opportunity to walk the currently open section of the trail. It does not provide the public with access to this property, but it does provide the owner with better access to this property. The trail is not open along the full length, so the use currently is limited to the south end of the property.
